Every year, the work by students at the University of Waterloo School of Architecture is featured in an exhibition and publication to celebrate the past academic year. Projects Review 2018 coincided with Waterloo Architecture’s 50th Anniversary, which has the theme of Questioning the Canon, critically looking at our curriculum and work as architects in the 21st century.

We decided to expand on the theme of questioning, and open it to Questioning the ___, asking students how they work critically within the design studios. The exhibition and publication feature stimulating graduate and undergraduate projects from the School of Architecture that address contemporary issues, critically questioning the environment we live in. The projects address issues that range from the use of computation to the inclusivity and sustainability of our cities, and examine the cultural, digital, poetic, and political conditions confronting architectural practice in the 21st century.
